Inventor 2013 Update for 2011/2012 Users (Metric)
AutoCAD Training Overview

The Autodesk® Inventor® 2013 Update for 2011/2012 Users training guide introduces the new concepts and techniques of solid modeling in the Autodesk Inventor 2012 and Autodesk Inventor 2013 software programs. The structure follows the most commonly used working environments.

The chapters in this training guide are divided to cover the interface, sketching and features, general part and assembly modeling, and finally the drawing environment. The initial Interface chapter covers the changes that have been made to the interface, getting help in 2013, enhancing model visualization, and working with the online services. The second chapter covers sketching and feature creation. Changes in the Sketch environment include how you can now explicitly select the sketch plane for the Base feature, and the new sketching and editing options (e.g., rectangles, splines, equation curves, dynamic trimming and extending, mirroring, scaling, constraints, and dimensions). Enhancements to 3D sketches are also discussed. The feature enhancements include changes to fillets, holes, shells, boundary patches, sweeps, face drafts, and rib features. The new workflow for creating Primitive features is also discussed. Miscellaneous part and assembly modeling changes are discussed in Chapter 3. This includes how to work with Section and Design view. The Repair environment tool and importing Point Cloud Data are also covered. The final chapter in the course covers the Drawing enhancements. The topics discussed are divided so that all view, annotation, and simple drawing usability enhancements are covered.
