Photoshop CS: Photo Printing and Color (Windows)
This course is provided by Wintrac. Wintrac provides one stop shopping for all your IT training needs. Wintrac’s course catalog of over two thousand courses includes courses on Adobe Training

Adobe Training Description

In this course, you will learn professional techniques for obtaining consistent, predictable, high quality images from Photoshop. The course addresses color correction processes for each of the three primary uses of Photoshop—desktop printing, Web images, and preparing images for commercial printing. You will learn a balanced approach, starting with system calibration, through the scanning process, image enhancements, color correction, and exporting your image. You will also create traditional printed effects such as duotones and spot color overlays

Adobe Training Certification

This courseware title addresses the Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) Program objectives for the Photoshop CS exam. The ACE Program is for graphic designers, Web designers, developers, systems integrators, value-added resellers, and business professionals who seek recognition for their expertise with specific Adobe products. Certification candidates must pass a product proficiency exam in order to become an Adobe Certified Expert.

Adobe Training Prerequisites

To ensure your success, we recommend you first take the following course or have equivalent knowledge:

  • Photoshop CS: Basic Image Enhancement
  • Photoshop CS: Refined Masking, Image Effects, and Retouching

  • Intel® Pentium® class III or 4 processor.
  • Microsoft® Windows 2000 with Service Pack 3, or Windows XP.
  • 192MB of RAM–256MB recommended.

Performance-Based Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
  • Identify two contrasting approaches to handling color images.
  • Calibrate your monitor, and use color management profiles to control the image display in Photoshop and for printing.
  • Create a crisp line art image, use scanning software or Photoshop to look for telltale signs of problem images, and choose settings for converting a raw image from a digital camera to Photoshop format.
  • Eliminate dust and scratches, suppress moiré patterns, and correct red-eye.
  • Apply a Color by the Numbers approach using Curves adjustment layers to eliminate color casts, maximize the contrast in important regions of images, and ensure that important colors such as skin tones are correct.
  • Make choices based on a specific image and printing conditions in order to get optimal quality rather than settling for mediocre results created with default settings.
  • Apply techniques for improving sharpness without oversharpening or accentuating noise and other defects.
  • Convert color images to grayscale, and add spot colors to images, both throughout the image as a duotone or as an accent color to selected areas
