Adobe Training Description

FrameMaker 7.0: Level 2 is an intermediate course on creating tables, using the Drawing tools, using master pages, working with multi-column layouts, and building and outputting a FrameMaker book. Students will gain experience working with FrameMaker and its features.

Adobe Training Certification

FrameMaker 7.0: Level 2 is one of three courseware titles that address the Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) Program objectives for the FrameMaker 7.0 exam. The ACE Program is for graphic designers, Web designers, developers, systems integrators, value-added resellers, and business professionals who seek recognition for their expertise with specific Adobe products. Certification candidates must pass a product proficiency exam in order to become an Adobe Certified Expert.

Adobe Training Prerequisites

To ensure your success, we recommend you first take the following course or have equivalent knowledge:

  • FrameMaker 7.0: Level 1
Delivery Method

Instructor led, group-paced, classroom-delivery learning model with structured hands-on activities.

Benefits

Students will learn how to insert, manage, and customize tables. They will also learn how to insert graphics using different methods such as placing graphics on master pages, inserting graphics on body pages, and inserting graphics in anchored frames. The drawing tools are also covered while working with graphics. Finally, the student will learn how to create and print a book file. This will include creating generated files such as a table of contents and an index.

Anyone needing to create or maintain tables, graphics, footnotes, and cross-references in FrameMaker.

Hardware Software Requirements

Hardware:

  • A computer with an Intel Pentium (or comparable) processor.
  • Windows 98, ME, 2000, NT4, or XP.
  • 64 MB of RAM (128 MB recommended).
  • 140 MB of available hard-disk space (200 MB recommended).
  • A CD-ROM drive.
  • A video card capable of displaying 256 colors (recommended).
Software:
  • Adobe FrameMaker 7.0.
  • Adobe Acrobat Distiller (available on the FrameMaker 7.0 installation disk).
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader (available on the FrameMaker 7.0 installation disk).
  • A recent release of Microsoft Internet Explorer (6.x recommended).

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
  • Create, modify, and format a table for use in FrameMaker.
  • Import and format graphics for use in a FrameMaker document.
  • Create and apply anchored frames within a FrameMaker document.
  • Create and apply a custom master page to an existing FrameMaker document.
  • Create a document with a multi-column layout.
  • Build and output a FrameMaker book from existing documents.
